Press Release
Optical Shutter Evaluation Kits from Boulder Nonlinear Systems
August, 2004 — Denver, Colorado. August 5, 2004 – Boulder Nonlinear Systems, Inc. (BNS) today announced the release of its new XT Series Optical Shutter Technology Evaluation Kit. This kit includes new one-inch diameter, mounted versions of the XT Series Optical Shutter. Additionally, a new benchtop liquid crystal device (LCD) driver provides the necessary drive electronics signal, required for XT Series Optical Shutters.
The new mounted version of the XT Series Optical Shutter is specially designed to mate with most standard one-inch rotation stages. This design compatibility is viewed as essential to leverage existing laboratory hardware, common to most university and industrial facilities worldwide.
BNS President and CEO Marty Best observes, “We continue to receive strong market feedback motivating us in this direction. Historically, we designed and built custom LCDs to exact customer specifications. That strategy doesn’t completely address all market needs. Often with new technologies, customers need to be up and running quickly. We address this important requirement by packaging standalone drivers alongside our bread-and-butter liquid crystal devices. With out-of-the-box functionality, these Kits are right on the mark.”
New Data Sheets describing the Optical Shutter Technology Evaluation Kits are currently being distributed at the SPIE Annual Meeting at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. BNS expects to have this new product information available on its website (www.bnonlinear.com) shortly.
“Building on top of our established research and development business base, we are marching down a pathway which broadens our commercial viability and strength. This new product offering includes a combination of in-house, ‘home-grown’ technology products – conveniently coupled with mating offerings that tend to reduce customer cost by simplifying the overall buying experience. Everyone wins,” notes Best.
